Privacy Policy

Sikka Software Corporation values the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information collected and respects the privacy of everyone who visits our site. Our Privacy Policy has been carefully crafted to protect your privacy and to make you aware of all its intended use. We may modify our privacy policies from time to time to better address our customer's concerns that may be appropriate.

 

Online Security

At Sikka Software, our team of technical security specialists work toward ensuring that all data transmissions, and communications are completed in a secure online environment.

To safeguard all business and personal information, Sikka Software:

Requires both a user ID and a password
Uses encrypted pages for password sign-on
Retains all account data in secure Data systems
Protects email we receive and guard against non-Sikka employees accessing it
Maintains high standards for employee training, instilling in each Team Member a respect for client confidentiality
Uses systems of record that protect all practice, client and personal information and utilize leading security features


Browser Requirements

To support our 128-bit encryption, Sikka Softaware’s Web site operates with browser software that is designed to prevent encrypted information from being written onto the user's hard drive, safeguarding against an unauthorized user accessing Sikka Software account data.

Sikka Software does not store encrypted personal information in the form of cookies. We use cookies only to access stored passwords or to enable users to customize information. We also use cookies to scan connecting PCs for information, which helps us determine if an online session is genuine.

Sikka Software is committed to maintaining the highest possible levels of data security. This dedication drives our efforts to apply the latest security technology and to conduct frequent tests and updates of our systems and practices. Cryptography

We utilize public-key cryptography (rather than same-key cryptography) to encrypt account information sent to and from Sikka Software over the Web.

Encryption

We use industry standard browser encryption (commonly known as SSL) and require a minimum of 128-bit encryption for Web transactions.

Firewalls

We have placed firewalls between users and our servers, as well as between our data servers and internal systems where secure data are housed. We employ an expert, independent third-party service to scan our network regularly for potential vulnerabilities.


Information collected

Sikka Software Corporation web site does not collect any information about you (name, address, e-mail, and so on) unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly through explicit forms such as contact us, user registration, login, product registration, downloading our program or by submitting your resume etc. Each of these forms also explicitly mentions the intent of collecting this information. If you do not want your personal information collected, please do not submit the appropriate form. Anyone can visit our website without revealing any personal information about themselves. We may collect or track other information about your web site visit such as IP address, day or time visited, duration of visit etc., solely for the purpose of tracking web site effectiveness and not for identification of an individual for solicitation or contact. Sikka Software Corporation may use rollups and summary information about business and clinical indicators without personal identifiers of you or your practice. This data is for benchmarking and industry research purposes and is the property of Sikka Software Corporation. Users of specific software products of Sikka Software Corporation are referred to the appropriate End User License Agreements (EULA) of those products.

 

Use and Disclosure

Sikka Software Corporation collects personal information from you in order to respond to your requests for information or other specific solicitation. We may also use the information provided by you to contact you to provide you with information about Sikka Software Corporation including but not limited to news, events, reference and benchmarking data and our services and offering that we believe may be of interest to you, based on the information provided to us. If you sign up for an electronic newsletter or e–mail list, each message will include instructions on how to “unsubscribe“ from that list. The only exception when information sharing may be done is when such sharing is necessary so that we can respond to your requests effectively. Sikka Software Corporation is not liable for sharing or release of this information if that is required by applicable laws, pursuant to some legal process or search warrant, and to protect Sikka Software Corporation's rights and property.

 

HIPAA Position Statement

Sikka Software Corporation Respects US and EU Laws on Privacy

Sikka Software Corporation is committed to developing and delivering services and products that assist and enable our customers to comply with privacy and security regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of August 1996 in the United States and the Privacy Directive (EU 95/46 EC) in Europe. The goal of these regulations is to improve the efficiency of healthcare administration while ensuring the privacy, confidentiality and security of patient-identifiable health information. Compliance with these regulations requires providers and payers to review operational practices, modify administrative policy and process, and apply technology. Sikka Software Corporation is committed to delivering services and products that assist our customers in achieving these goals. HIPAA includes among other provisions of this law, protective guidelines for the confidentiality of healthcare information, containing provisions that spell out the procedures for maintaining privacy and security of this information. The law also mandated uniform standards and formats for electronic transmission of health information and code sets in connection with most routine types of health transactions (such as claims submission and eligibility for benefits). We trust that the electronic standards, code sets and subsequent objectives of HIPAA will improve the general efficiency in which healthcare is administered. We are confident that HIPAA will provide for the security and confidentiality of an individual’s health information and provide specific, undeniable rights to the patient with regard to the handling and administration of that information.

Under those auspices, Sikka Software Corporation will provide products and services that are designed to comply with the law and to help you comply in a timeframe mandated by law. Sikka Software Corporation will submit to all required testing and certification of its products and services covered by HIPAA. Additionally, Sikka Software Corporation is investing significant resources to analyze and revise all company policies and procedures to ensure complete compliance. Sikka Software Corporation customers can rely on us to support them to this extent. However, Sikka Software Corporation cannot give you legal advice on all your obligations under HIPAA, and software and services alone cannot make a dental practice HIPAA compliant.

As we have done for the past year, we will continue to provide our clients and partners with significant upgrades and enhancements, many of which will assist our customers in their efforts to become compliant. Please note that HIPAA standards require our customers to address internal policies and procedures and change their practices in ways that extend beyond the scope of our products and services; it is not possible for us or any other software package to make customers “HIPAA-compliant.” While we will continue to provide our customers with product upgrades and information that will assist customers in becoming compliant, we also strongly encourage our customers to become familiar with all HIPAA regulations and how they impact their own respective practices. Do we use Cookies?

Sikka Software Technical Support team uses remote connection utilities/ tools to login to maintain SikkaSoft products at optimal performance level. This permission is granted by customer as part of Sikka Software provides remote access technical support.
